Ray Wood, MBA
Managing Director
Ray is a prolific inventor of things mechanical with a number of international patents in motor vehicle engineering and control systems for yachts and fishing vessels.
From humble beginnings with one Series II in South Africa, Ray has been known to own four Land Rovers simultaneously on three continents.
Ray is a shareholder and the Managing Director of GLOBAL ROAMER CORPORATION. |
Robyn Wenner, CHRP
Director
Robyn is a Certified Human Resources Professional with senior management experience in leading Canadian and International organizations.
Known as an Adventuress, she once drove a canvas top IIA 88, with no heater, through a six-month Canadian winter.
Robyn is a shareholder and Director of GLOBAL ROAMER CORPORATION; a self-appointed whip-cracker with responsibility for organizational development, human resources, customer service, marketing and keeping tabs on Ray Wood (whom she often takes sailing in her 37 foot sloop). |
Ken Friend
Manufacturing Manager
Ken has proven himself a master of anything from CNC programming to Land Rover engine overhaul. He is the only man we know capable of contorting himself under the cockpit floor of a sailboat to adjust the tappets on an ancient Yanmar 3QM30 diesel. This comes naturally to him as he was once an executive in a canning company and has owned and raced Leyland Minis.
Ken's expertise in manufacturing, quality control and customer service, and his willingness to take on any challenge, is greatly appreciated at GLOBAL ROAMER. |
Philip Goodall, B.ACC ACIS
Accountant
Somebody has to keep the books straight! Philip comes to GLOBAL ROAMER from Zimbabwe where he has his 1971 IIA 109 on blocks while waiting for the revolution.
We advertised for a creative accountant who understood ‘F’ head engines and Philip was the only applicant.
Philip has driven Land Rovers all over Central and South Africa and is looking for an adventurous woman, good at tax returns, to take on his next safari (send PDF of tax returns). |
Matt Norman
Matt joined GLOBAL ROAMER after an executive career in Canadian retailing - claiming he wanted to 'do something different'. He has exceeded our expectations in this regard by turning himself into everything from a machinist to a marketing consultant. Matt is largely responsible for completing our very complex conversion of a 101 military Land Rover into a capable and comfortable expedition vehicle see "MONTY" on our OUR LAND ROVERS page. |

Rex Yang
Consultant
Rex has over ten years' experience in manufacturing overdrives but is currently studying for a medical qualification and attends the shop on a part-time basis while learning about the differences between a Gracilus and an Iliopsoas muscle. Rex originally joined GLOBAL ROAMER with experience in business management and international trade. We value his continuing contribution to our manufacturing and purchasing operations and wish him well in his new career. |
